Wireless Department

The Police Wireless Communication Department is a technical branch of the police. The Wireless Department provides uninterrupted 24-hour wireless communication to the police for maintaining law and order. This department also assists with other technical needs of the police force. It coordinates with other departments and institutions that provide technical services, ensuring continuous and smooth technical support for the police force. The main responsibilities of this branch include various types of voice communication, data transmission, and video conferencing. Additionally, this branch oversees anti-sabotage equipment, CCTV systems, and control rooms. Each police station, police mobile unit, and check post is equipped with wireless sets. Beat marshals are equipped with walkie-talkies. To expand wireless communication coverage, repeaters located on hilltops or tall buildings are used.
